Our History
Established in 1987, TLC was initially named ‘Launceston Christian Fellowship.’ The name was changed to ‘Trevallyn Life Church’ in 2009.
TLC’s building was originally constructed as a mess hall for a single mens’ camp—part of the Marrawaylee hydro-electric construction village. In the late 1950s it became a youth hostel, and then a Methodist Retreat called Beresford House. It was not until the late 1990s that it became the church it is today.
What we believe.
Creation
The earth is incredible - it was created with intricate precision and remarkable detail. This perfection is no accident - it shows supreme design by a powerful, intelligent, phenomenal God.
Value of mankind
Every person has value. From the womb to the grave every life is precious. Our lifestyle, community, laws and culture should all aim to support this truth. God made all of us, and He loves us. In the same way we should seek to love and value one another in the example of Christ.
The Gospel
God made a perfect world and provided everything we needed, but humans fell into sin. So God made a way for us to be redeemed and set free from sin through the sacrifice of His son. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection we now have freedom and the promise of eternal life with God if we only believe and surrender to Him.
God is love
Love comes from God. He loved us enough to send His only son Jesus to die for us and set us free from our sins, that we may live for eternity with Him. He loves us dearly, as high as the heavens are above the earth, and He has called us to love one another.
Marriage
God’s design for marriage was that it would reflect his love, faithfulness and loyalty. Marriage is a covenant made to be pure, a covenant of faithfulness between one man and one woman. This is God’s perfect design, and it is a beautiful thing.
